My Escape to the Capital

Back in the holidays (gosh, was that three weeks ago?) my family and I flew over to Wellington. I hadn’t been back since I was eight so I was incredibly excited!

My immediate view of Wellington was literally blown away by the infamous thrashing wind – my warm hat almost flew away down the runway! πŸ™‚

We spent four nights in central Wellington (on Lambton Quay!!) enjoying all the amazing parts of Wellington.

On our first day I was lucky enough to catch up with my little cousins, and we went to the Imperial War Museum, where we took an interesting guided tour though the ANZAC’s in WW1 exhibition. It was so amazing – the museum has been set up by Weta Workshops, and depicted so many amazing scenes. I was very impressed, as was my five year-old cousin! πŸ™‚

The next day we walked up around the waterfront of Wellington harbour – and my gosh, what breath-taking views!! There was even a (very out of tune) piano which I was able to play! πŸ™‚

I really loved Wellington! It was so warm compared to home, and absolutely beautiful! I can’t wait to return! πŸ™‚

I would love to hear about your comments of your favourite holiday spots! πŸ™‚
