Confidence – The Most Attractive Quality?

Hello sweet peas πŸ˜€

Time and time again people have asked the question what it is that attracts one person to another – be that friends, or a boyfriend, or girlfriend. And many times I have been told it is confidence. Usually at this point a lot of people groan and say “really?!?!” because they are convinced that this is completely unachievable for them. But I can tell you right now that we are all capable of expressing confidence in our own special ways πŸ™‚

It’s really easy to put ourselves down and tell ourselves that we aren’t confident, which is kind of a never ending loop. If you tell yourself you can’t be confident you won’t. One really good piece of advice I have been given is “fake it ’til you make it”, and to be honest it is kind of true, and surprisingly useful! πŸ˜‰ Sometimes you have to pretend you are confident, and you will act accordingly, until one day you no longer have to even think about it. πŸ™‚

My other piece of advice is simply, just believe in yourself. Sometimes I have found myself in group situations *cough* production *cough* where I have felt like the “quiet” or “shy” member of the group, or I have thought that the peopleΒ I was hanging out with were too popular to hang out with me. BS, at its finest πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜€ This is so not true, I can tell you now. Whenever I think this I tell myself that those girls are lucky to be hanging out with me, and that I am most definitely their equal, and that I don’t have to be the shy member of the group.

Which is my final piece of advice. My most famous saying (I think?) is “there is no time like the present”. Basically if you want to change something, don’t wait for tomorrow, do it now! I watched this interview with Shawn Mendes ( ❀ ❀ ) where he said ‘if you wait until you’re ready, you’ll never do it”. This is so true. Sometimes you kind of need to be ready (like swimming – please learn first!!), but sometimes you just have to take the bull by the horns and just go for something πŸ˜‰ πŸ™‚ (another famous Lui saying)

I really hope that I have opened your eyes a little bit more to your own self-worth, and made you think a bit πŸ™‚ Now, next time you are chatting to your crush you can feel a bit more confident about yourself, and know that you are worthy of them, and if they don’t fancy you its their loss πŸ™‚ or when you deliver a speech know that this speech is good πŸ˜‰ next time you do a performance, or even you are just chatting with a group of people from school, know that you are an equal and you have a worth πŸ™‚ And then you will be confident πŸ™‚

I would love to hear your thoughts and tips for this, as always πŸ™‚ If you want to read another of these types of posts, you can read my Be Yourself post, or look under my Positivity, Chatting,Β and Tips part of my blog πŸ™‚

I hope you are all having a great day, and can achieve a healthy sense of self-worth πŸ™‚

  1. Love this post Lui!! It’s so true; I’ve often felt like that shy or the “outcast” of the group of friends that I had last year. The truth is, those “friends” weren’t really true friends. To be completely honest, they were some of the meanest and most selfish people that I have met in my life, and made me feel horrible for being myself; the great thing about it is that I learned. I learned from those mistakes and embraced, loved, and valued myself for who I was, not because I was some fake persona those fake friends had created for me. I guess you could say I found my own voice to speak up. I have a great real group of friends now who never judge me, because they’re all unique and quirky just like me. I seriously love this post; truly inspirational and I love that you added in your experience. I relate πŸ™‚ ❀ ❀

    Much love!!
